Monferrato

Nebbiolo is famously the grape of Barolo and Barbaresco, but in Monferrato it often makes sleeker, more food-friendly expressions rather than super-ageworthy Barolo-like monsters. But beware, it's not some 'Little Barolo', it’s more of a regional Nebbiolo expressing local terroir. Also, fun fact about the word 'nebbiolo': from Italian 'nebbia' is a 'fog', referencing the fact that during harvest steep hills of Piedmont are covered in fog. Poetic just like the nose of this one, pure roses and wild fruits. 

Aged in old oak, it has pleasant structure and moderate tannins, has iron minerality and notes of cranberry & cherry with some savoury tea leaves finish.
