Spontaneously fermented wild ale blended with old Austrian pears. Bright acidity, soft tannins and ripe pear notes meet a rustic, funky orchard character, with time in oak adding depth. 

Hopfengrund is Christoph & Julie Hoch’s project in which they bring the intuition of winemaking into brewing, working with organic and locally grown ingredients, wild fermentation, old grains, fruit and wine barrels. It results in naturally fermented beer that blurs the line between wine and beer!
