Weiz G

This is Grüner Veltliner at its most mineral-driven. The grapes are sourced from the Hollenburger conglomerate, which is a rare subsoil made of solidified river sediment, Alpine chalk and pebbles. This specific soil provides chalky, 'Champagne-level' minerality that gives the wine intense structure and a naturally high acidity.

Electric! yet weirdly harmonious, with a bright, saline mineral finish that balances the vibrant fruit (apples & lemon mainly).

Fun fact: in 2022, Christoph was legally barred by the Austrian government from using the word 'Grüner Veltliner' (or 'Riesling' for his other white wine) on certain labels due to regulatory audits. This led him to rename his wines (e.g., Weiss_G or Weiz_G), though the winemaking philosophy remains unchanged.
